My Story: From Pain to Power

Why I Created Ms.Baby

My name is Daniela Kalongo. I was born in Kinshasa, Congo, and when I was around 6 years old, my life changed in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time.

From a young age, I experienced trauma that no child should. It began back home at the hands of someone trusted and continued after my family moved across the world to  Canada, in search of a better life. What we found instead was more confusion, pain, and betrayal. Abuse, emotional, sexual, and psychological, shadowed much of my upbringing.

But this isn’t a story about what happened to me.

It’s a story about what I chose to do with it.

As I got older, I searched for peace. I craved safety in my body and power in my spirit. I found both in fitness. The gym became my escape. Movement became my therapy. And for the first time, I started to feel strong not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

But even as I was healing and growing, I noticed something missing:

Activewear that fits my body.

Clothes that hugged my curves instead of fighting them.

Styles that made me feel sexy, confident, and supported in my skin.

That’s when I knew I had to build it myself.

 

 Ms.Baby Was Born From My Healing

Ms.Baby is more than just a clothing line. 

It’s the brand I needed during the darkest times of my life. 

It’s for every woman who’s ever felt unsafe in her body, unseen in the world, or silenced in her truth.
